Hi! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Gemma Piscioneri; wife of Tom, proud co-founder of G&T Finance, and yes, the “G” in G&T (Gemma and Tom… but also Gin and Tonic….because honestly, who forgets that?).
I moved from the UK to Australia in 2007 and, like many of us, fell into my career more by accident than design. That career ended up being in banking and what started as “just a job” turned into nearly 20 years in retail banking, working my way through just about every role you can imagine. Eventually, I was the Head of retail for 2 customer owned bank brands. Being a young woman in banking wasn’t always smooth sailing, but it shaped me — and I genuinely loved the work.
From the very beginning of G&T Finance, I’ve been part of the business, just quietly from the sidelines. I was still working full-time in corporate, commuting from Jindalee to the city every day, while Tom took the plunge to launch the company. I always knew I wanted to work for myself one day to build something meaningful, something personal, and to have the freedom to make my own decisions.
In early 2025, Tom and I were offered a business opportunity, a pretty big one. And while it would’ve made sense on paper, we turned it down. That decision became the turning point. It gave us the clarity we needed, and pushed us to make a different call: it was time for me to join G&T full-time.
So here I am, officially on the other side of banking now helping people like you, directly. And I’ve brought every bit of experience with me. Whether it’s industry knowledge, leadership, or simply understanding how banks think, I’m here to make things easier and clearer for our clients.
I’ve gone from sitting in the meetings where interest rates were decided… to now sitting across from families, first-home buyers, and investors, helping them understand what those decisions actually mean in real life. I absolutely love this side of the work, it’s real, it’s personal, and it’s deeply rewarding.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me socialising (a glass of wine and good company are hard to beat), reading a good book, or just enjoying some downtime with our little family.
So, if you’ve always spoken to Tom, don’t worry, he’s still here. But if you ever want to chat, ask a question, or simply get a second opinion, I’m right here too.
Can’t wait to work with you.
Gemma
